In a publication in Forbes, Frances Coppola, who follows the topic with the failed private Bulgarian lender Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB \/ CCB) has quoted in detail the documents\u2019 investigation of Bivol<\/em> in the scheme of the mass acquiring of media by Irena Krasteva and her son Delyan Peevski. Ms. Coppola’s article is pointedly titled: Bulgaria’s CorpBank: A Tangled Web Of Fraud.<\/p>\n

The untangling of part of this web around Peevski\u2019s media took months and was made possible due to a key document obtained upon request under the Access to Public Information Act (APIA) from the National Assembly (Parliament). The contribution of other media such as the site Mediapool<\/em>, the newspaper Capital<\/em> and our partners from the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) was also very important in exposing the offshore ownership of the TV channel TV7.<\/p>\n

Forbes cites two texts of Bivol: TV7 Ownership Tangled in Offshore Companies on Eight Levels <\/a>and About the Short Memory of a Banker<\/a>. Furthermore Bivol produced video graphics of the scheme to finance these media through connected companies. All publications preceded by months the crisis in CCB.<\/p>\n

*Bivol has corrected a statement in the second quoted article to make it clearer that Krasteva has bought out the shares of the company TC-IME in New Bulgarian Media Group, not the entire TC-IME. This statement now reads:<\/p>\n

\u201cMeanwhile, Krasteva had already become the sole owner of NEW BULGARIAN MEDIA GROUP HOLDING. On March 13, 2009, the Holding bought out all shares of TC-IME in the media empire and her connection with Vassilev was broken.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
