G\u00fclten K\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck<\/strong>, sister-in-law of Mustafa Karadayi, leader of the party mostly representing the Bulgarian Muslim minority \u2013 Movement for Rights and Freedoms, (DPS), has also built a guesthouse near Karadayi\u2019s native village of Borino. In addition, her company has asked money from the paying agency State Fund Agriculture (SFA) to buy two snowmobiles and two ATVs with European Union (EU) money.<\/p>\n

The guesthouse was built on a property sold by Videlitsa-2004, a company of Karadayi\u2019s brother-in-law Nevredin K\u00fcch\u00fck<\/strong> (Nevredin is the brother of Karadayi\u2019s wife and husband of G\u00fclten), to the winning bidder – the company Troka. In 2012, Troka has applied for a subsidy with the project \u201cConstruction of a guesthouse in the Kastrakli area in the village of Borino\u201d. At that time, the company has been registered in the name of an employee at Videlitsa-2004.<\/p>\n

In April 2012, a subsidy<\/a> of BGN 128,290 was paid for this project. After the five-year project sustainability period, the Troka company has been transferred to Karadayi\u2019s sister-in-law G\u00fclten K\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In 2013, the same company applied for funds under the Rural Development Program (RDP) with Project 21\/312\/02577 for the acquisition of two snowmobiles 2014 Ski-Doo Summit Sport Power T.E.K. 800R, and two ATVs Grizzly 700 EPS \/ SE. The project has been approved, but the money has ended up not being enough, and it remains as a “footnote”, sources of Bivol from the SFA explain.<\/p>\n

The SFA denies any official comment on this case, citing the prosecution\u2019s probe.<\/p>\n

“At the order of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Bulgaria, Sotir Tsatsarov, probes are carried out into all projects for guesthouses financed under the RDP in 2007-2013. The SFA has provided all the documentation to the competent authorities. Until the probes are completed, the SFA has no right to report on a case so as not to interfere with the investigation. Case information can only be provided by the team of supervising prosecutors, at their discretion<\/em>,” the Fund’s reply reads.<\/p>\n

Several days ago, Bivol revealed<\/a> that Zatie Karahamed<\/strong> and Nevredin K\u00fcch\u00fck<\/strong>, respectively sister and brother of Mustafa Karadayi<\/strong>\u2019s wife are behind four projects for guesthouses in Borino. Their companies have received over EUR 1 million of EU money under the RDP. Therefore, it turns out that the family of the politician owns half of Borino\u2019s accommodation places financed by the EU, and the house in Kastrakli is one of them. <\/p>\n

The other projects of the sister-in-law that had been awarded financing under the RDP are of the companies Chala Invest \u2013 BGN 391,160 for the \u201cConstruction of guesthouses for rural tourism<\/a>\u201c, Chala Tour with a project for \u201cConstruction of a vacation village for rural tourism in the Podolata site in the village of Chala<\/a>\u201d for BGN 244,530 and Izvora Invest with the project \u201cGuesthouse, reconstruction of the existing floor and adding one more floor; purchase of transport vehicles<\/a>\u201d for BGN 281,321 and another project of the same company for \u201cPublic works and landscaping of a guesthouse and purchase of funds for non-agricultural activity<\/a>\u201d for the modest BGN 38,968. <\/p>\n

In order to avoid a very obvious concentration of European projects in the hands of the same persons, the firms have been initially registered to straw people, but have been subsequently acquired by Zatie, Nevredin and his wife G\u00fclten. The research of the property deals confirms that Karadayi\u2019s relatives had been behind these projects from the very beginning. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
