The Executive Director “Port of Burgas” Argir Boyadziev has been removed from office. After a publication in Bivol, exposing the past of the Chief of “Port Burgas”, the caretaker government has taken the necessary measures to remove the former agent of the Communist State Security (DS) from the management of the State company. Boyadziev has received the dismissal notice from the Transport Ministry on October 7, at the end of the workday. Financier Ivan Ivanov Kapitanov from Sofia has been appointed to replace him in the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will now elect a new Executive Director of the company. Diyan Dimov is again expected to lead “Port Burgas”.
We remind that on August 28 there was a change in the Board of Directors of the port. Then, the Board of Directors dismissed the CEO and municipal leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), Nikolay Tishev and he was replaced by Diyan Dimov. He is a former CEO of the company, replaced by Nikolay Tishev in 2013 by the Socialist-endorsed government of Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski. There were no other reshuffles in the three-member Board and the linked with BSP Stoyko Tankov and Argir Boyadziev remained in it. The latter was elected CEO.
New changes are to be expected in the Port. It is assumed that Stoyko Tankov will also be removed from office soon, but it is still not clear who will replace him.
The newly-appointed Ivan Kapitanov is a former partner of two caretaker ministers – of Finance Minister Rumen Porozhanov and of Agriculture Minister Vasil Grudev. Before becoming members of the cabinet of Prime Minister Georgi Bliznashki, Porozhanov, Grudev and Kapitanov, who at that time was Chief of Staff in the Agriculture Ministry, were partners in the NGO “Association Center for Strategic Analysis, Financing and European Funds”. Porozhanov was Chairman of the company, which was registered in February this year, and Grudev and Kapitanov were his two Deputies.
Until his appointment in “Port Burgas”, Kapitanov was Chief of Staff of the caretaker Agriculture Minister.
