Ivaylo Parvanov, son of former Bulgarian two-term President, Georgi Parvanov AKA Gotse (his codename as agent of the former Communist State Security – editor’s note)) and Mariana Dobreva, sister of the Member of the Parliament from the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), Kiril Dobrev, have acquired a five-star SPA hotel in Kyustendil for 7.5 million levs, revealed a report of bTV.
The President’s son explains the origin of the money for the purchase of the five-star hotel with a loan from the company IV-SM which deals with software and maintenance of computer networks, but also with hotel and advertising services. He is partner in it with his brother Vladimir. Until July 2013, Mariana Dobreva has also been partner with the brothers in the same company.
The company has only three insured persons and rather modest sales in recent years. The most successful year has been 2012, when the company registered revenues in the amount of 299,000 levs. The revenues for 2014 were 191, 000 levs. The origin of the money for Ivaylo’s multimillion loan remains a mystery. But it is no secret that
IV-SM also services the SPA hotel in Belchin
Leaked correspondence of MP Kiril Dobrev revealed that the luxurious “Belchin Garden” was entirely built under his leadership – from the foundations to the last power switch. Everything was coordinated with Dobrev, including the color of the carpet and the prices of holiday packages.
The letters of price coordination for hotel packages, sent by its manager Peter Ivanov to Kiril Dobrev, show that a server of IV-SM mail.ivy-sm.com also services the hotel’s e-mail (see here and here).
Where did the money come from? From circles of companies around the discontinued South Stream gas pipeline project
Besides IV-SM, there is also the company IV COMMUNICATIONS with owner Mariana Manolova Zhekova. Together with Ivaylo Parvanov and Mariana Dobreva, she is on the Board of Directors of the company STRIMON SPA, owner of the hotel with the same name. Moreover, Manolova is representative and sole owner of the company STRIMON CLUB, whose Board includes Ivaylo Parvanov and Kalin Rogachev. The connection between IV in all its varieties and STRIMON is more than obvious.
IV COMMUNICATIONS has been owned earlier by Elena Harizanova, a trusted person of Kiril Dobrev, who oversees the companies he controls. Dobrev’s leaked correspondence showed how the said company is financed by BSP – with contracts for public relations and publishing of party materials (see here), but also by companies around BSP as the infamous PONS Holding of Milko Milkov (see here).
PONS was one of the companies chosen by the socialist-endorsed government of Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski to build South Stream, along with the companies controlled by controversial lawmaker Delyan Peevski. However, PONS also gravitates around current Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov (from the ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party GERB) and is a key player in the shady deal with the lands of camping “Coral”.
Here is how 27-year-old Ivaylo Parvanov has collected the millions for the SPA hotel with several swimming pools – drop by drop in the party whirlpool.
