Visits to Bulgarian SPA resorts with Putin, an idea of presidential candidate Tsetska Tsacheva, and the Romanian strategy for the judiciary, an idea of the other contender – Rumen Radev – were among the main topics in the presidential debate, held just days prior to the runoff presidential election on November 6.
To comment on them, we gathered in our studio “Bivoltone” the trio – former judge Vladimira Yaneva, her former colleague Rumyana Chenalova and lawyer Momchil Mondeshki, for what can be seen as an extraordinary session. Mondeshki was nervous about having to participate immediately after the interrogation in the prosecutor’s office, but the commitment to the art of the radio theatre prevailed over his mental anguish. Of course, this is all a joke, but it ends here. Curiously, both issues (the SPA and the Romanian strategy) are present in recordings made months ago, which is an achievement worthy of “Ellie” the fortune teller.
In this episode of #Yaneva Gate, then-judges Vladimira Yaneva and Rumyana Chenalova are planning SPA treatments to shake off the stress caused by the “finishing”. Chenalova reveals a conspiracy by people close to “Soros” and the America for Bulgaria Foundation. Mondeshki sees this as a “great strategy”, originating from a script borrowed from Romania and fears the launch of a Plan B: criminal proceedings.
This segment is too emotional to fit in Momchil Mondeshki’s story that these conversations have been planned by the three to discredit the Prime Minister, the Prosecutor General and members of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) and then barter the recordings with… former Justcie Minister Hristo Ivanov. There are many other details in the published recordings that contradict this story, first suggested by Prime Minister Borisov, and immediately circulated by controlled mainstream media.
In earlier-published recordings from #Yaneva Gate, the three ponder how and from where “this thing” has popped up – the pressure to “finish” Vladimira Yaneva. Several backstage figures are considered as prime suspects: “Boyko” (Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov – editor’s note), who pressured the Prosecutor General, “Tsetso” (Tsvetan Tsvetanov – former Interior Minister and leading figure in the ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB – editor’s note) who”pressured Boyko tremendously”, whilst an independent “game of the Prosecutor General” is discussed as a third option. We also learn that “Delyan” has spoken with “Boyko” and “Sotir” (Delyan Peevski – controversial lawmaker and media mogul, seen as the “gray cardinal” in Bulgarian politics; Prosecutor Genera Sotir Tsatsarov – editor’s note.) The Prime Minister’s friend Staliyski did not want to interfere on Yaneva’s behalf, but has delivered the message that “Boyko wanted to see her in person”. Yaneva, however, has refused for fear of sexual abuse and discrediting.
The cast now finally “matures” to the most obvious version – the official policy of then-Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov and pressure from European and NATO partners for a radical judicial reform following the Romanian model. “The two women” and “the big brother”, however, literally adhere to the “talking points” of the opponents of the judicial reform that have been circulating in media controleed by Delyan Peevski for years now – that a coup plot, sponsored by the United States’ and George Soros’ foundations, is underway.
Very similar talking points against opponents of the regime are being spread in Russia, but also in neighboring Serbia, Macedonia and even in Hungary. The tracking of the source points to a single command center in Moscow, where the operations in the hybrid information war against NATO and the European Union are planned.
At the end of the recording, Chenalova, Yaneva and Mondeshki stage a scene that would be worthy of a grand prize for acting, if it has been planned, as Mondeshki insists. The lawyer is nervous about the possibility of criminal charges against the judges, Chenalova reacts violently, but Yaneva seems resigned. This sublime moment is interrupted abruptly by a phone call from “Georo” to Yaneva. Who is he and what he has communicated to Yaneva will become clear in the next episode.
